Britain's Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge arrive at a charity event for Absolute Return for Kids, ARK, in London, in this Thursday, June, 9, 2011 file photo. It sounds like a bit of a racket: $4000 for a three-course meal and a chance to see a polo match up close, or $400 for a box lunch and a chance to see the same match from the more distant bleachers. It gets better, however, when you throw in a chance to rub shoulders with the Duke and Duchess of Cambride, especially in southern California, where bragging about having a glass of wine with Prince William and the former Kate Middleton may just be worth the price of a used compact car or a week's vacation. That's what the organizers of a July 9 charity event at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club are hoping for. The glitzy royal couple makes a guest appearance there at the tail end of a ten-day trip to Canada and southern California that begins Thursday June 30, 2011, that marks their first overseas trip as man and wife, and the first test of their appeal on the international charity circuit.(AP Photo/Alastair Grant, file)
